Care Free Medical and Dental provides the following health services:

Care Free is a mid-Michigan nonprofit organization serving 5,000+ patients without insurance or without access to affordable care.

Every individual deserves access to quality, compassionate health and dental care, especially the most underserved in the community.

Care Free Dental provides both routine hygiene care (cleanings and x-rays) and dental treatment for the underserved or uninsured in the community at reduced fees.

Care Free Dental attempts to prevent these expensive ER visits by offering low-cost preventative hygiene care and other treatment through a compassionate group of volunteer dentists.

While they can schedule hygiene visits in just a few weeks, their waiting list for more extensive dental care (such as fillings, extractions, dentures, etc.) is very long.

Payment & Insurances:

Clinic is funded through modest patient fees for service, donations and grants.

Medicaid is accepted but co-pays are required at appointments.

Please discuss service fees in advance with the staff when you schedule an appointment.

People with commercial insurances are not seen at the office.

Questions To Ask Your Dentist

How am I expected to pay? What are the costs for services. Is this discounted or based on income? What Documents am I required to provide? Do you need me to provide income statements in order to verify discounts, mail to provide residency? How are the instruments sterilized? Heat sterilization is very important for all instruments. If you are not comfortable with their answer, you can choose another office.
