The Brevard County Health Department employs one part-time and two full-time dentists. Daily clinics are held for Medicaid-eligible children and maternity clients who are experiencing pain, and also for uninsured patients ages 5-18 through a pre-payment program at the Titusville, Viera and Melbourne Health Department locations, by appointment only.

Services include:
examinations, x-rays, oral hygiene instruction, fillings, extractions, preventative, restorative, emergencies and palliative treatment.

For more information, or to schedule an appointment in the Dental Clinic, call (321) 637-7300 Monday through Friday between8:00a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Adult Volunteer Dental Clinic - The clinic was established in June 1994 through the combined efforts of the Brevard County Dental Society, the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners, the Brevard County Health Department and the Florida Department of Health, with an annually-reviewed contract.

The vast majority of the volunteer dentists are members of the Brevard County Dental Society who donate their time. Many dentists, hygienists, assistants, dental supply companies and other organizations have donated time, instruments, equipment and supplies.

The purpose of the program is to provide limited dental services to low-income adults without other access to dental care. Services provided are primarily the diagnosis and treatment of acute dental pain. This includes x-rays, evaluation of the patient's major complaint and extractions. Clinics are held two to three times a week. The clinics are located at the Titusville, Viera and Melbourne Health Department.

Needy individuals must be at least 18 years of age at or below 100% base poverty level as set by the Federal Government.

For more information, or to schedule an appointment for intake/eligibility or the Volunteer Adult Dental Clinic, call (321) 637-7300 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Due to the limited number of appointments, there is often a waiting list to be seen in the clinic.
